QWho is EPIC Volleyball Club, and what should we expect?+
EPIC is a competitive girls volleyball club serving the greater Sacramento region, founded by Coach Dawid Pawlik, who has developed and coached youth volleyball players at virtually every level of the game.
We're a registered NCVA club built on one conviction: every athlete deserves the highest level of training and full development — on the court and off it — in a safe, positive environment with clear communication for every family.
If we select a player, it's because we believe in her completely, and we are fully invested in her development and her experience.
If you wear an EPIC uniform, you will have an EPIC experience.
QHow many teams will EPIC have for the 2026–27 season?+
Five national-level girls teams: 13s, 14s, 15s, 16s, and 17s.
QWhat level of play am I trying out for?+
All five of our teams are National-level teams. These are highly competitive squads built to compete for bids and qualify for a national title at the national championship tournament. If you want to be pushed, developed, and surrounded by teammates who share that fire — this is your club.
QWhere will practices be held?+
We're finalizing the contract on our gym space now and will announce it very soon. Here's what we can share: the gym is just off Highway 80 in Rocklin, with hardwood floors and air conditioning to keep every athlete cool on hot summer days — and comfortable seating so every parent, grandparent, and sibling has a place to cheer on their favorite athlete during practices and future tournaments. Family is part of the EPIC experience, and our gym reflects that.
QWhen are tryouts, and what are they like?+
Tryouts for our 15s, 16s, and 17s teams are Friday, July 24 at Granite Bay High School. The 13s and 14s dates will be announced at a later date.
Expect an organized, high-energy session with real reps and real evaluation — and our core values on full display: integrity, transparency, and putting each player's development and experience first.
QWhen will I know if I made the team?+
On the day of tryouts — a coach will come find you personally and share the great news. Every player we select is chosen with complete confidence, and every Head Coach is excited to coach every athlete on their roster. When you get the news, you'll know you were truly wanted.
QIf I don't make a team, what should I do?+
Keep going — your volleyball journey is just getting started. Our national teams are highly competitive, so roster spots are limited, but we've built high-level clinics, specialized trainings, and small-group coaching sessions to help every athlete keep developing and come back stronger. Visit our website for the schedule — we'd love to keep working with you.
QWhat tournaments will my team play in?+
We're finalizing schedules now. Our goal is three National Qualifiers — ideally Anaheim, Reno, and a third — chosen for the best competitive experience and the easiest travel. We plan around our families.
As an NCVA member club, our teams will also compete in regional league play throughout the season, plus two to three local tournaments close to home.
QWhat are your core values?+
Integrity. We do what we say.
Transparency. Clear communication with players and parents — about roles, development, expectations, and costs.
Players over profit. When there's a choice, the athlete wins. Every time.
QWhy did you start EPIC?+
Because this is our passion. We love this game and we love developing young athletes — on the court and off it.
We're building something special in the greater Sacramento region: a club dedicated to giving every player an EPIC experience and every opportunity to play at the next level — through college and beyond. Our mission is to raise the standard, and we're excited to build it alongside our families.
QWill my daughter actually have fun?+
Absolutely. Competing at a high level and loving the game go hand in hand — the best development happens when athletes are challenged, believed in, and enjoying the grind together. Our players will work hard, compete hard, and have fun doing it. It will be EPIC.
QWhat does it cost to play at EPIC?+
Dues will be communicated to families before tryouts. They'll generally run approximately 10% less than the larger clubs in our area, with the coaching, training, and experience our athletes deserve. You'll see exactly what your dues cover. In keeping with NCVA rules, no dues or deposits are collected before Signing Day.
QHow will the club communicate with families?+
Promptly and clearly. Schedules, tournament information, and club updates come through consistent channels, and we welcome your questions anytime.
QWhat system do you use for communicating with parents and players?+
We run our club on LeagueApps — the platform the country's leading volleyball programs are built on. Everything lives in one place: registration, secure payments and payment plans, team schedules, rosters, and club announcements — with a mobile app so schedules and updates are always in your pocket. One login, everything you need, all season long.
QHow does EPIC handle player safety?+
Seriously. As an NCVA registered club, all coaches and staff complete background screening and SafeSport training, and we maintain the insurance and compliance practices a safe environment demands. Your daughter's safety — physical and emotional — comes first, always.
QWhat is your philosophy on playing time?+
Playing time is earned through development, effort, and competition. What we commit to is honest communication: every athlete will know her role, what she's working toward, and how her coach is helping her get there.
QDoes EPIC help with college recruiting?+
Yes — it's part of our mission. Our staff supports players and families through the recruiting journey with next-level skill development, guidance on the process, and honest conversations about fit and opportunity.
QWhat should my athlete bring to tryouts?+
Court shoes, kneepads, water, and a great attitude. Come ready to compete, communicate, and have fun — effort and energy stand out just as much as skill.
QWhat if we can't attend tryouts on July 24?+
Reach out to us at hello@epicvolley.com as soon as possible. We'll do everything we can to arrange an evaluation — we don't want scheduling to be the reason we miss a great athlete.
QWill there be a make-up tryout?+
Yes — if your athlete can't make it on July 24, email us at hello@epicvolley.com and we'll share the details and get her scheduled.
QAre there opportunities to be seen before tryouts?+
Yes — we're hosting open gyms in the weeks leading up to tryouts. They're open to all athletes and a great way to get quality reps, meet our coaches, and experience EPIC's training environment before tryout day. Check our website and social media for the schedule — we'd love to see you in the gym.
QWho will be coaching my daughter?+
Coaches selected as carefully as our players — chosen for their ability to develop athletes and for their character. Your daughter's game and confidence should both grow because of her coach. Coach bios will be posted very shortly — check our website and social media to meet the staff.
QWill EPIC add more teams or programs in the future?+
That's the plan. We're starting focused — five national teams done exceptionally well — and we'll grow as we maintain our standards.
